Privacy Policy

This is a plain-language draft written to accurately describe what this app actually does. It is not legal advice. Have an attorney review it before relying on it, especially before marketing to churches or minors.

What we collect

Account information: your email, a hashed password (we never store your actual password), and your name.

Your notepad: the notes you write and the passages, search results and study notes you add to them. They're private to your account and never sent to AI.

Your books: what you write in the Book Builder is private to your account. It's only sent to our AI provider when you press an AI button there (such as "Clearer" or "Suggest questions"), and only the part that button works on. What you do with your finished book is up to you.

Your prayer journal and memory verses: private to your account. A prayer request is only seen by others if you choose to share it with one of your groups.

Groups: if you join a group, its members see your name, what you post there, the prayer requests you share with it, and how many days of the group's reading plan you've marked done. Studies you share with a group, and notes you share by link, can be read by anyone who has the link.

Reading history: which chapters you read on which days (from the reader, audio and reading plans), to show your "year in Scripture". Private to your account.

Notifications: if you turn them on, your browser gives us an address its push service uses to deliver them to that device. Turn them off at any time in Account settings.

Offline reading: chapters you read or download are saved in your browser on that device. Signing out clears your saved reader page.

Your reading and study: where you left off, your translation and text-size choices, the highlights, bookmarks and notes you make, study tools you save (verse maps, sermon outlines, SOAP journal entries, study plans), and what you write in the Eremos. These are private to your account.

Bible text

Scripture is loaded from API.Bible and bible-api.com through our server. Those services see that our server requested a passage. They don't receive your name, email or anything you write.

AI processing

Study features (word studies, the interlinear, verse context, people/places/timeline, verse maps, sermon outlines, SOAP prompts, the study coach and the Eremos "Discern" reflection) send text to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. That includes the verse or passage involved and, for Eremos, sermon, SOAP and study-plan coaching, what you typed. We never send your account details. We don't control how Anthropic retains API data beyond what's described in their own policies.

Answers that depend only on the Bible text (not on anything you wrote) are stored and reused for other readers so they load faster.

Bible search sends what you type in the search box to Anthropic to find relevant passages. Results are stored by the words searched (not by who searched) and reused when anyone searches the exact same words; we don't keep a history of your searches on your account.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't use advertising trackers or third-party analytics. We don't share your notes, studies or journal entries with anyone.

Email

We send a welcome email when you sign up and password reset emails when you request one. If you turn on the daily email in Account settings, we also send the verse of the day and your reading plan's next reading each morning. Every daily email has a one-click link to turn it off. We don't send marketing email.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. No third-party tracking cookies.

Children and Stand Firm Kids

Children don't create their own accounts. A parent or guardian with a Stand Firm account can add kid profiles to their own account; for each one we store only the first name or nickname and age the parent enters, the Bible translation they pick, and the child's progress (stories finished, chapters read, memory verses practiced, stars, streaks and badges). We don't collect a child's email, password, photo, location or contact details.

Children can't type anything that's sent to AI. Kids' story retellings and verse explanations are generated from the Bible passage alone, written for one of two age bands (6–9 or 10–14), and reused for all children, so nothing about a particular child is sent to Anthropic.

The parent can see and change everything stored for their kids on the Kids page, and removing a profile (or deleting the account) permanently deletes that child's information. Leaving the kids area requires the parent's PIN or password.

Your choices

You can update your information, or permanently delete your account and everything saved with it, from Account settings.
